Hello

I am an Afropean woman, a muslim, a geek, a writer. Daughter of immigrants in France, “Toubabou den” in Mali, or expatriate in Switzerland, I am all that and more.

Who or what am I?

I am someone with a visceral need for tolerance. I want a world where having different opinions does not mean hating each other. In a world of "ism" where one must be pro this or anti that, I am pursuing nuance and the proverbial middle ground. I use my keyboard and discuss matters to understand others and better assert myself as an individual. I refuse to be covered by the cloak of self-righteous and politically correct unanimity, which acknowledges only one solution to a problem and conceals dissenting opinions.

The world is complex, and so am I. I am a feminist because I believe in equality, not to punish the oppressor. I am a believer that fast during Ramadan and does not wear the veil. I am grateful for my French culture, and I claim my Malian identity and heritage with passion. I sometimes laugh at inappropriate jokes, but I hate the idea of hurting my fellow humans.

I see the world from my corner, and make sense of it with my limited knowledge, yet, I want to share my thoughts with everyone. Not because it is worth more than others, but because there is power in numbers, and plurality is essential to survival.
